UFC fighting. Wow, Mom. That's all that really needs said. I probably wouldn't have pegged myself as a fan of it, but I am. There's just something satisfyingly exciting about watching two people beat the snot out of each other. Ya know? It energizes me, pumps me up, makes me want to challenge someone. It puts me on edge, makes me want to do what they're doing, except with a whole lot more trash talk. You ever notice that? The fights I'm watching now are being held at Fort Bragg, for the troops there. In the background you can hear alot of yelling, of course. The thought crossed my mind that a bunch of those people in training get into scuffles for fun, and that there would be ALOT more trash-talking going on. Based on prior experience, I think it may be a prerequisite to getting into the military. Not necessarily a bad thing, mind you. Trash talking in that sense gets a person riled up, and makes them push themselves harder, to their limits, and beyond. If it WERE me on that octagon, I don't think I could keep myself from slinging some insults here and there, especially when we were on the floor in a wrestling move, even if I was on the bottom. I mean, really, the whole time the leading guy had his vic on the floor in a chokehold, I was thinking, 'Just whisper in his ear a little. Tell him he's gonna lose. Really get his blood boiling'.
Maybe it's the mouth guards keeping them from insults. Too slobbery.
Keep fighting the good fight,

P.S. By the way, at the beginning of this fight, the one announcer dude made note of the fact that this was for the troops at Fort Bragg. He said that in Iraq and Afghanistan there were no tap outs, no fight-for-five-minutes-then-take-a-break fights, none of that. It was REAL fighting, with REAL death, not just a match. I would have LOVED it if they would have actually shown the National Anthem playing beforethe fight on TV. It gives me chills just thinking of the camera panning over all the people with their hands over their hearts, knowing that they could be next to be sent overseas. Thank you, everyone in the military, whether it be past, present, or future, for all that you do, have done, and will do.
~~*With love, Spatzi78
